GROUP TRAINING 2008   -   FOR HELPERS & INSTRUCTORS
If any Group would like training Incorporated into their normal ride day please contact their Area Instructor of Area Representative.    This is to help groups who do not want to host or attend a larger Area Training Day.

AGM Field Day 2008.

Our Annual General Meeting, Conference and Fileld Day, took place on Tuesday the 15th of April 2008 at Kildalton College, Pilltown, Co. Kilkenny. About 165 members attended. Our Chairman Dermot MacDermott opened the Conference, and this was followed by Adeline Brannigan speaking on "RDA in Ireland - 40 years ago, how it all began. Liam Moggin gave a wonderful talk on motivation and Gillian Bingham, Northern Ireland's Regional Physiotherapist, gave a invigorationg talk entitled "Why Ride ?", She spoke of the advantages of exercise for able-bodied and disabled riders. The conference continued in the indoor school with presentations for the long service awards and trophies to the competition winners. Displays included carriage driving by the Ballyloo Group's Martin Costello and whip Donald Mills. Gillian Bingham gave a display of lunging using both able-bodied and disabled riders and this was followed by a display for dressage rider Sue Smallman riding her ow Grand Prix horse Oakengrove Ideal. To round off both an enjoyable and educational day, Kildalton equine students gave a dazzling display combining Irish dancing and quadrille on horseback.

Dublin Horse Show 2008

Congratulations to all 8 riders and their teams for an excellent dmonstration in Dublin on Saturday the 9th of August.   Mr. Ronan Tynan  presented each rider with a rosette and congratulated them on their excelent display.  The eight riders were. 

Maria Hannon, on Winnie, and her team from the Galway Group.

Kizzie Clear, on Dawn, and her team from the Laois Group.

John Longworth, on George, and his team from the Thurles Group.

Jamie O'Herron, on Quest, and her team from the Mullingar Group.

Aaron Curran, on Ronnie, and his team from the Redhills Group.

Carol Walsh, on Mariebelle, and his team from the Navan Group.

Susan Morrissey, on Pied, and her team from the Kells Group.

Paul Davies, on Jack, and his team from the Castlehill Group.
